the last tear had dried.
Why still do I feel
an emptiness inside?
My heart cries out
with no reply.
I turn and exhale
a sorrowful sigh.
Alone, I now sit
encased by dark.
How do you mend a
bruised and battered heart?
Time heals all wounds,
is what they tend to say.
I shall be whole again,
soon enough, one day.
