Love Never Dies

There is a pounding in my ears....
      Boom Boom ... Boom boom
The sound is deafening and has lasted throughout the years....
      Boom Boom ... Boom Boom
Forever resonating all around my body and even deep into my bones....
      Boom Boom ... Boom Boom
The sound deep and metallic like that rusty metal doors that I have shut in
the deep recesses of my mind...
Searching to find the handle so I can throw the door wide,
       to see what it is that I have to hide,
            away in this dark damp place where no light can touch.
      Boom Boom ... Boom Boom ... Boom Boom
Like cries from a prisoner that has never committed a crime, but to love
and to be loved.
      Boom Boom ... Boom Boom ... Boom Boom
The door swings open letting light flood into the small room deep inside my
head and I cry as I see....
      Boom    Boom   .....   Boom    Boom   .....  Boom   Boom
Tears cloud my eyes as the prisoner's eyes are looking back at me, but not
seeing me..
      The prisoner is me... eyes milky white... but not seeing ...
            Hair white, long and unkempt...
                  Hands bruised and fingernails broken and caked with dried
blood.....
The prisoner is dead....  Boom    Boom  ......  Boom   Boom ..... Boom
Boom ...
      Has been dead for a long time, but I realize there is a smile on his face
and one hand is over his heart....
            His legs spread in front of him and on the ground between them
something is written....

  'I am not dead, the beating is that of my heart for the woman that I
love.
      I have given her my love and my heart.  I am lost forever in her
eyes.
            I no longer need to see because everything reminds me of her.
                  Everything is her.... Everything is love... and Love is
everything...'

      With each beat of his heart his smile widens just a bit...   Looking
in to his eyes I can see her smiling back at me...
I am caught and I smile... my heart pounding in my chest... my thoughts on
you... and only you... nothing else matters anymore in the world but you...
the color fades from my eyes as I stare off seeing nothing but you... the
color fades from my hair as it grows day by day...  I am lost forever... in
you...
