I told you I'd write you a love poem
But all I could come up with is this
I cannot explain the indescribable
breathlessness caused by your kiss

or the depths of peace and security
when you hold me in your arms
a constant eye of a hurricane
while around us threatens the storm

the feel of your hand upon my brow
somehow soothes the worry away
smoothes the rocky path which we walk
palm covered from the heat of the day

or how when your body cloaks mine
life's trials seem to disapppear
as our souls and flesh surge together
you whisper sweet words in my ear

So don't ask me to write you a love poem
I wouldn't know where to begin
Except all that you are, makes me all
that I am, and causes my heatbeat within.
