You drop your head so I can not see your eyes from inside
Trying to keep from me those emotions you hide.
I look into your eyes to see what they hold,
So loving, so brave, so very bold.
The gentle touch of my hand on your cheek
Lets you question the emotions you feel,
Wondering if they are but just a ghost,
or are for real.
You feel the love I hold for you inside,
Warming the core of your heart,
That for so long has been denied.
You feel your heart breaking,
Knowing that the pain - the hurt
Will not let you love me the way you want to.
You try to move your emotions forward,
Only to have the hurt pull them back.
You turn your head to cry,
Knowing this is true, and there is nothing you can do.
You feel my cheek upon your chest,
Listening to the beating of the heart within,
The feel of my lips against your flesh,
The cool soothing of my breath.
I whispers in your ear,
Those words the way you have always wanted to hear,
As I tell you I love you and want to be near.
You fall into my arms,
Dazed from the shock you have felt upon hearing those simple words,
Knowing for the first time in your life,
That those words have been spoken to you,
And are meant and are true.
