Lovely is the girl
whose toe lightly tickles mine,
causing my blush to rise,
and my heart to quicken.
Slowly, she looks down
and fiddles
with something
under the table.
She moves seductively;
her foot
no longer tickles
mine.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing," she purrs.
Playfully,
she brings up a gift
and places it
next to my cherry filled Godiva's.
It's tiny,
red,
silky,
and wet in the middle.
"Happy Valentine's Day,"
she whispers.
I smile.
I cry.
"You are my life,"
I softly say.
She takes my hand
and kisses it.
A single tear
drifts
down
my cheek.
Love is wondrous.
