Laying here beside you in the shadows,
Light of the moon in the window;
To me you are everything,
So much more than you know.

Alone I survive, alive and well,
Each day is a solo flight;
Yet in your arms I know true peace,
Vibrant joy and sweet release.

I guard your slumber as you dream,
My warrior, my sweet gentle love;
I see what lies beneath the skin,
Things to be and have been.

You stir my heart, against my breast,
Within the circle of my arms;
Fear not beloved, go you back to sleep,
Over you this loving vigil I keep.
