As night spreads cold upon this earth my body prays to rest
I beg until white daylight touches the morning's dew
Grant this mind the numb relief of the unaware
Cease the tears of love's silent cry.

Will dawn bare hope's return or will it be unkind?
Endless waiting, endless dreams.
To hear the voice with which sweet music cannot compete,
or the feel of anticipation's touch returning fire to my soul.

Each day filled with dark time - endless in its taunting
My heart in desperation for the sun to bring it's glow
Seeking distraction from the clutch of longing
Unborn this day is true love's hope.
