A couple times a year I visit Las Vegas
for no reason except
sunshine, sex and scintillation,
A close but distant world
orbiting the same sun but
with different rules
alternate physical constants
algorithms that don't function at home
and never will,
I pack my bag sparsely
what does one need, after all
that one can't buy
or do without,
After a few days
or a week at most
I come to my senses and fly home,
Then, like a wandering comet
in a wide elliptical orbit
six months later
return ...
