Tumult and chaos accompany him
His dissension into Morpheus's world replete
Shattered dreams, disappointing reality
Indiscretions he had too many

Shadows dance upon the ceiling
Voices and whispers from nowhere
Footsteps echo when none should be heard
A cold breeze blows through a closed window

Sanity questioned as Morpheus bids welcome
Images of actions past flash before him
Dreams once aspired now mocked
Reality and indiscretions taunted

Demons of his life
The bottle the women the money
Dance before him in a ceremony of illusion
Belittling and cursing his life

The shadows and the voices invade
Whispers torment him
Voices of people he knew once
People he has hurt

Demons of his life return
Voices became louder
"Take them away" he screams
"Make it go away"

The footsteps return
Familiar voices are heard
Soothing, friendly voices of his present
Hands so soft calm him

"It was just a dream" she says
"They cannot harm you darling"
The whispers are still there
The shadows still dance
He sees them, he hears them
He knows this is no dream

"Take them away" he screams
