Magnets Through Glass

The room is still warm
From the heat of our bodies.
I cannot breathe but that your scent steals the air.
Pellegrino bottle
Keeps company with a cup graced by your lips.
Both are as empty as my arms.
Sheets
Twisted by the sirocco of our passion
Hold shapes like dunes in the dim light.
In the tub, a finger touches a drop of water,
And I touch it to my tongue to dull this thirst for you.
Eyes closed, I recall the completeness of us as you moved under me,
Calling out in love.
I seek justice
For two souls separated,
Trying to unite like magnets through glass.
All is quiet,
My watch hammering out the seconds since you left.
