A bucket of the colonel
Watching the Hatteras snow
Nixon was reliable
Lord it seems so long ago.
A prelude to the first time
We count the love since then
In the night in broad daylight
Again and again and again.
Over thirty years my dear
Gravity has taken toll
Knowing the things we can't change
We are wiser but less bold.
No fumbling in the dark
Lets mute the tones tonight
Forget what age has taken
We look good in candlelight.
