Silence. Dark, endless, enveloping all.

It has taken control, I cannot suppress it.

A raging storm of silence withing my heart

Spilling out, I am caught, trapped…

Silence has taken over, trapped my soul

Like a firefly, my soul’s light

Glows against the darkness, but

The darkness is too strong. I am overpowered…

My soul screams, as the firefly fades.

Fading… disappearing…With my last strength,

I scream out, in desperate hopes that

My shattering cry will pierce the silence.

My voice, like an arrow, an arrow of life

Shatters the silence, blowing life

Into the firefly’s faded wings.

They spread out, glowing with a newfound light

The light of my heart chases the silence away.

Fleeing, like a purple shadow, the dark silence spirit

Is gone, shattered by a light. The light of my pure heart.

A pretty poem

I say you should write more. It's like you captured death and put everything dark into a poem. Very nice.

!

Very few poems can stand the inclusion of 3 souls 3 hearts and sundry other repetitions. It gives a "de trop" feel to what you are doing.
