you hold me in your hands today
massaging all the pain away
you stroke my fevered palms.

you calm the seas that rock my ship
relax the sinews of my grip
with ointments creams and balms.

your fingers press contorted flesh
i watch them intertwine then mesh
with mine and know you care.

descending from the skies above
you wrap me in your hands of love
while muted trumpets blare.

you polish nails and trim away
dead skin and mold new hands from clay
i feel my pores unclog.

the flames delicious with desire
leap up to warm me like the fire
that licks the amber log.
