Marriage is the silliest thing people do.

Here is why guys:

People own each other
-You belong to me
Don't look anybody else thing.

Don't own anybody
One Night Stands
Quickies in the work place
Or dating for a short periods of time
Is better than life long commitment.

Financial problems
A big family means a big house
A lot of caretaking
Many, many bills to pay.

Birth control, overpopulation
There are too much of kids in the world
Don't add much more to them
Do sex for fun with many partners
Don't make babies.

Kids consumes money like a hell these days.

Without kids
You don't need to raise college funds
You don't need to worry about their future
You don't need to buy expensive toys
You save a lot of money.

Without kids
You will make your own contribution
To the wellness of environment and the earth

Don’t forget that
Most of the marriages
Means no romance, no respect
Among couples.

You can add that
Dysfunctional families
Defunct sex life
Cheating and sometimes violent acts.

Most cases ends up in divorce
With hefty alimony and litigation expenses.

So you see
Marriage sucks.

"Facts" are yet to be interpreted, yes?

If the speaker in this piece is meant to be a representative of the many who likely feel this way about marriage, then overall, the piece works well. ie. if the railings are ironic, then this is a decent poem. However, i get no sense of irony, i only sense that the speaker IS the author. Language, grammar, and spelling issues notwithstanding [Anonymous covered that topic very well in her/his comments on "how to please me" another recent piece of yours], and again, if this is NOT meant to be an ironic work, the speaker of the poem is very out of touch with how a true marriage should work -- and believe it or not, even today, DOES work, frequently. If one says marriage is "silly" (or does it "suck"? two totally different concepts), because "Kids consumes money like a hell these days" then the speaker clearly is not willing to put any work into their marriage. And truly, if this is how the speaker feels about kids, then he/she should definitely NOT have kids. Please. "Most of the marriages/Means no romance, no respect/Among couples" ... marriage is not about romance, it's about work, and yes, respect. But the two are not meant to cohabitate necessarily are they? I realize that it's not really fair to be criticising the speaker's OPINIONS, granted, and i am grateful that this piece got me to thinking about what marriage means (just because the speaker's experience with it has been unsatisfactory doesn't mean it "sucks" as a concept), BUT if you rail this loudly about an institution, you are asking for a response. And my response to "Do sex for fun with many partners/Don't make babies" brings me back to my earlier comment: if this is how the speaker feels about kids, then he/she should definitely NOT have kids. Please.
