Don’t be fooled by me.
Don’t be fooled by the face that I wear,
For I wear a Mask,
I wear a thousand masks,
Masks that I am afraid to take off,
But all of them are me.
Pretending is an art that I know very well.
Don’t be fooled,
I give you the impression that I am secure.
Look past the surface to the emotions
Of the soul that lies within.
Surface coolness gives way to passions,
The cool breeze of reason is consumed
by the flames of love’s fires.
These I hold for you.
Beyond the mask.
