I've been told time and again
That I'm too nice
And nice girls never win

But if that's how it must be
I'll gladly lose
Because I won't change me

I would give up everything
To see the smile
My giving heart can bring

It's who I am
And how I'll always be
And I don't mind a bit
Because I like being me

Excellent advice, for if you become what others say you should be, you cease to be you and become an automaton with feelings to match.
