MELODY IS THE ESSENCE
( Olive Grove 2 (?) )
Outside my house,
On this hillside I stood,
Once again,
Your truth I understood,
Not always possible,
In day light to grasp,
Nearly impossible,
In nightly hours to gather.
I knew that night,
Just like I know tonight,
Watching the olive grove,
In full moon light,
I knew how much I loved you,
And how pure,
I knew how much you loved me,
I was sure.
I knew, watching the lonely olive grove,
That I would like with you the world to rove,
't was only just two weeks that you had gone,
And there I stood feeling again alone.
"There is no way", I thought, "that I can live,
Without her the world I can't conceive",
But I was happy, feeling still your love,
Giving you mine above this olive grove.
Tonight I'm in raptures of some sort,
Watching again that same olive grove,
Verses which would be borne I just abort,
Melody is the essence of our love.
