Melpomene’s  Song
(The Muse of tragedy)
Rocking gently, knees to her chest
For the young one’s spirit
There is not rest
Half-truths told, and whole lies
No wonder she grew up
So quiet, so shy
But now the aching brings out
This true work of art
The melancholy tune struck upon every mans’ heart
Singing deeply, sorrowful, and pained
Paralyzing words ringing within her brain
     “No dawn will come
                    Only sullen tragedy
The battle unwon
                My love torn from me
Tears of blood spill fourth,
               Will they finally understand?
My eternal torture shared
         Throughout your forlorn land
Why is mankind so blind to see,
          This dying little girl
Who lives inside me?”
