I close my eyes and allow my mind to drift
Choosing its own direction, each time it amazes me
Because it chooses the same pathway it drifts straight to you
Nestling within your arms seeking comfort and shelter
Igniting passion and desire, reaching, touching and wanting
Stoking the fires of a new love that seems to be an old love
In so many ways the companionship and friendship
Of like recognizing like
Have we passed this way before?
Have we loved in some other time?
Is this why the whole of me longs to rush straight to you?
Eyes closed eyes open still the same – thoughts of you
Dominate my days fill my nights with dreams
Or could they be memories of some long ago time?
When you held me close and loved me wildly yet tenderly
Matching my thoughts expanding my horizons
Growing together in love giving, taking, forever changing
At times like a thunderstorm with lightening flashing
Wild and torrential falling caught up in a frenzy
Of pure ecstasy careening onto the surface of my heart
At times like a snow storm, softly and gently
Drifting lazily, floating on emotion
Coming to rest in the comfort of arms held out ready to take me in
Of a face upturned just to see the beauty of the moment
Memories I believe maybe of moments past
Or a promise of what is to come
But surely of moments that bring light, laughter and joy
Passion, desire, and eagerness to a landscape of once calm
Now turned tumultuous at the memory or promise of a touch
