holidays
filled with heavy leaden expectations
predictable unenthusiastic gift giving
devoid of true sentiment
just a desparate desire to keep up
always gets me down
there is one gift i shall be giving gladly
not from lord and taylors, neiman marcus or bloomingdales
it is from somewhere else
and it costs me so much
i shall go on with a smile on my face as if you were still here
and pay tribute to your life
by appreciating every day of mine
so up with the lights, tinsel, decorations
wrap the presents,
send the cards
trim the tree
bake (okay buy) the cookies
and be festive
it is the least i can do for you
merry christmas sissy
i love you
