I fall from the edge of this world into an impenetrable mystery of dreams,
feel night black as a cat rub its velvet fur against my skin,
the taste of you on my lips,

dream we are a myriad fragments,
irridescent moonlight on a restless sea,
now coalesce to shimmering swollen flowers
painted in the colours of a kiss,

dreaming,
my fingers reach into you,
and in answer your flesh yields to my touch
until we become one in the spill of your skin over mine,

I hear your heart
the throb the beat hypnotic,
resounding, insistent,
as our hearts find their echo doubled,
crescendo,

then in the crucible of the senses,
we wake inside each other,
as small as atoms
or huge as the sky,
melt into sunrise,
dissolved in the unfathomable refractions of love

(for Julie)
