Age, meaningless number that it is
Without value, lacking worth
The amount of whispered revolutions
Around the sun by planet Earth
Heavenly bodies moving through space
Are then quite something to behold
Within them lies the key to beauty
The secret of never growing old
The goddess Meteora in desperation
Casts spells at her reflection in the mirror
Her powers of persuasion used to thwart
A falling from grace foretold in fear
For it is this fear that propels her
Into veering from her celestial course
Sympathizing with her, Luna knows
Power waxes, wanes in force
The real enchantment of the divine
Lies within the eyes of the beholder
As does the myth that beauty fades
When beholding oneself as older
Not to be found within in potions, spells
Or fated within an astrological chart
Rather in the spectator watching the stars
Mind free of time, young at heart
At the mercy of belief, mortal youth is
Thrusting antiquity upon itself
Take pity on them if you crave their beauty
If you are jealous, pity yourself
And should Meteora pass your way
Be brave and be even bolder
To resist the temptation of power
Burden she cursed herself to shoulder
From nubile goddess to venerable crone
She slips in the blinkings of telescopic eyes
Clutching skeleton keys to beauty in hand
Forever plummeting from heavenly skies
