Oh Migraine, how I detest thee,

You always would sneak up on my love,

And harass her to the highest degree,

To ease her pain, I would beg you to come to me.

But with a look of hatred in your eyes,

You would hiss, "You ignorant fool,

Do not bother me! I am born to hear her cries,

And I love to make her lose her cool."

As I felt bad and could not make her feel better,

You would remark as you took your leave,

"Look at her weary face now, it's wetter,

With the tears that I left for her to grieve."

But then one day, she left me,

Packed with a suitcase full of lies,

She was no longer my sweet pea,

Was to be my only surmise.

You arrived today with an icy dagger,

Your steely grip bent on making her quiver,

Hoping to intimidate her again with your swagger,

You were quite ready to make her shiver.

With a nasty smile, you looked around,

Searched high for her, then you searched low,

Alas, she was nowhere to be found,

You huffed and puffed, you almost turned yellow.

Looking at me, as you stood short of breath,

"Stupid brat, where is your wench?

Answer me now, or I will be your death.

You do not want to feel my fists around you clench!"

I laughed and I chuckled and I sneered,

"Stupid Ogre, she left my castle to become the past,

Of a present unclear or so it appeared.

Find someone else for that wretched spell you wish to cast."

Utterly denigrated, you twisted your neck,

"Let me show you a trick, my dear."

Shuffling deathly cards between your fingers from a deck,

"You, my prince, now have something to fear!"

I shook my head, in pure disgust,

"Do your worst, you treacherous wizard!

Your dagger won't kill me with its filthy rust,

I will remain immortal like you, lizard!"

With your basilisk eyes, you stared coldly,

I could never sense you sneak behind,

You raised your hand quick and struck me boldly,

Turned me to stone with your knife wedged my mind.

You tried to break me and you tired to make me cry,

Ever so diligent, you were almost too manic,

Stabbing me for hours to leave me battered and dry,

Unrewarded with my squeals, you began to panic.

You pressed your cold hands and crumpled my cheeks,

"How do you resist this pain that I bring?

Were you forged in the multitude of freaks?

Answer me now or you shall feel your neck wring!"

Smiling through the stabs you bore in my head,

I remarked, "Stupid Ogre, I have reigned supreme,

With my smile as my savior. You are all but dead,

Now, let me be the one who shall make you scream."

I sneered back proudly with your knife up my skull,

My cacophony of smiles murdering you as you flee,

Run, run, run away with your pain so dull,

Oh Migraine, now don't you detest me?

Interesting. Maybe goes a bit rambly but good word choices and concept.

Thank you!

Thank you for your insight!! I am glad you enjoyed it and yeah, it did turn out a tad longer than what I had hoped to write when I started it but my mind kick-started in between to change it lol

Welcome to the poetry side

You wove your way through this with foreshadowing and an understanding of keeping a reader interested. Like this, it might be cut back a bit but solid read
