Do you know what it’s like?
To be trapped inside your own mind.
To have your imagination as your prison.
My thoughts consume me
I am always thinking, thinking, thinking.
Pondering this situation, or that idea.
Contemplating each action before they’re taken.
Thinking, thinking, thinking.
Ideas become deep thoughts.
Thoughts give way to daydreams.
Daydreams give way to fantasies.
Fantasies fueled by a powerful imagination.
Thinking, thinking, thinking.
I think I am, therefore am I?
Am I all that I think I am?
Am I just a figment of my own imagination?
Do you know what it’s like?
To be trapped inside your own mind.
Thinking, thinking, thinking…

The mind...

can change the game AND the rules without any warning and leave us sitting there wondering who we are and IF we are. And those are especially the mind games of the writer and poet <smile> This was an astute synopsis of a mind that is usually about an hour ahead of the body. Join the club - it has a large membership <wink> And speaking of memberships... welcome to the poetry side of the Lit neighborhood!

Yes

I know what that is like!

My friends say my greatest

flaw is that I think

too much and I think

they may be right!

Is that a bad thing?

I think not well at least

I don't think it is. lol

Great Poem.
