Mindy Loves to Blog

Mindy loves to blog
pours out significantly more pages nightly than I ever will
on any given night
(cuz  I drink too many beers and usually just scowl at the universe without writing)
She likes to
get on the Internet and write
 about her relationship
with
Kyle
she records how he says things
and how he moves
then she reflects on it in razor-like detail
what he said to her yesterday and the night before that
and the night   before that
and on June 14
at 2:53
PM
and meteorological conditions
of the day
on which
he said it
and , most importantly, how it made her feel
and what ice cream flavor  he ordered
and how she felt about that too
and how he dressed yesterday
and today
and every cadence of his voice
every gesture
every quirk
every nuance
how he opens the door
how he drives
and how she feels about all of these things
are all available on a website near you right now
anywhere in the world
you could be living in Madagascar
and within seconds
you'll know
how Mindy felt
about the way Kyle complimented her dress
or the style  in which  he organized
their trip down the Oregon coast
and how  she felt about surrendering
her need to manage.
I am lucky
We meet every so often for  a walk  and a coffee
I will not be reported on
to be read about in Madagascar
or Huinan Province
or Nigeria
or Nova Scotia
Her feelings toward  me are non-existent so they go
unanalyzed and my presence
Is luxuriously un-central
Like a wispy hair on the edge of a movie frame
I got one line on her blog
in 2008
"I met a guy"
And she's a nice-looking, good-spirited gal
So I'm happy for Kyle
At the same time
I feel miserable for him
I want to weep for him
I want to get drunk
On his behalf
for his every move
Action
and look
are to be deeply reflected on
and considered
and scrutinized
in the court of Mindy
for ever and ever
available to the whole world.
I am so happy I am  merely
 "the 2008 guy"
