I felt so small
So very alone

I tried to fill the silence
But music made it worse

No song could capture
All the pain

I sang to a few
But as varied as my mood
Was my voice

It tried to give mention
To all things at once

And came out
A glorious cacophony

So again as I prepared
For another sleepless night

I asked myself yet again
Who was I
To still be alive
After someone had died to save me

Who was I
That I was so special
But knew not at what

Who could I be
With knowledge I should not have
And dreams that often came true
With a sense of great loss

So again I asked
Who was I?
"You are Mine"
It is all I ever needed to hear
