This piece was written to be read while a slow paced, instrumental version of the Greek folk song "Misirlou" plays in the background. "Misirlou" is a song about a young girl, and here she dances for her Gypsy lover in traditional Middle Eastern style... and, as in the original translation from Greek to English, their lives are forever changed by a single kiss...

Misirlou: The Kiss

In the smoke blue haze of twilight He possess her
his fair eyes smoldering, in turbulent shades of sage
his skin, she has annointed with oils of amber and myrrh
so exquisite, is the sweet earthen essence of Him

His wandering spirit calls her deep unto his dreams
mandolin quivering in ecsctasy, within his arms
her skirts of amethyst whirl to the beat of ancient rhythms
as she, His treasure dance lightly upon the palm of his hand

She has not the power to seduce by charm, or guilded word
but surrenders her soul unto Him, beloved captive of His will
In the lush hills, and fertile valleys of Kashmir they thrive
as the demon within him swells in seething pride

His strength resonates within every beat of her heart
undeniable is the moonlight, and magic that draws her unto Him
she will dance forever within the quiet storm of his eyes
for Him, the keeper of her fire, beloved Master of her soul

Clouds of indigo traverse the midsummer moon
her tender rose blossoms from purity, for His pleasure
intoxicated is she, enslaved by his passion so dire
she falls to her knees; and drinks of His ravenous spirit, enraptured

Zills of silver crash, searing the midnight sky
castinets chatter, sparking crimson-edged flames of desire
he explodes with savage grace unto her soul
as she, with honor consumes His precious gift of honey

He lifts her eyes unto his, and their lips burn as one
it is there, within the nomadic shadow of His eyes
she sees the light of ten thousand tomorrows
bound eternal by faith, devotion and selfless pride
