rain washes my cheeks
steady streams, dirt un-removed
lines deepen, I gray
nothing ages like pain

Three things cherished
stolen, taken by a common thief
un-repenting, forcing a cross to be born
carried in love, for my children

torn by separation, robbed of joy
my very heart beats, feint across miles
where’s my daddy, echoing boundlessly
resounding, ringing louder then ever

I need a tear catcher, no a rain bucket
to save each drop of love as it falls
a gift given, unseen, unheard
yet unselfishly released
