What do I write to express how I feel?
To thank you for each meal?
To explain that through all the anger and pain,
There was a motive of love that you tried to maintain.
You may not be so organized or strong,
But you’re my mother, and we share a bond.
It wasn’t ever easy, it may not even have been fun,
But you stuck through, never sure if you could have won.
No matter what your imperfections, I’ll always love you,
No matter how you treat me or what you do,
Simply because you’re my mother and you love me too.
