Working and trying to make ends meet,
Walking the days till they turn to night.
Never knowing how long the day will be,
As a mother you have other then paying jobs.
Your main job, as a mother has no pay.
That job gets its rewards with a child’s growth, and accomplishments.
It’s a job of frustration and little thanks,
Days when a child does good, and then bad.
Hoping things will work out, and they do well…
Dealing with their changes and moods.
Always wondering if what you are doing is right,
The day will come when they are parents too.
Then they will feel our frustrations as their own.
Realizing our roles really weren’t that bad.
What we wanted was for their good, not ours.
Time will make things work out.
We turned out, regardless of our parents’ fusing.
It just takes time, it doesn’t happen over night.
With love and care all will work out right.
Far more of a job description than a poem
although a very fair presentation
that many mother's will identify with.
