why do you tease me so
you lure me in
with your cunning ways
make me believe your love is true
when all you want to do is use me
for what you think you can get.
my love is not for bargaining
don't you understand?
you have me constantly
on a up and down
why do you treat me this way?
when all i do is show my love
confrontation gets me nowhere
you just freeze up
turn your back and walk away
avoidance is what you do best
can't look at the reflection
of your true self
in that mirror before you
for fear you will see, that monster there.
so a veil goes up before your eyes
seeing only what you want.
i think ill leave
just walk away
let you stir in what you did
to make me go
so you will have to face
that monster inside of you
i can't stand to look
at that image of your true self
i guess i was blind too.
