Napoleon said “I’ve got a job for you”
I did just what I was told to do
Intercepted for what I did not know
But now I’m the punch line in their jokes
My love is lost, the worst of all my fears
Only torture reminds me of the years
Their neglect became my friend you know
And I left that prison made of stone

Now you know revenge is in my soul
My blade is quick my heart is stone
I’m bleeding for a love I’ll never know
I’m the Count of Monte Cristo
My kingdom is island all alone...

I showed compassion to a fool among the thieves
So I joined the cutthroats of the sea
Soon I return with a fortune from a priest
My heart is colder than stone on which I sleep
In my castle I proclaimed myself the Lord of all
with grim satisfaction I see my enemies fall
With the sword and pistol was vengeance sweet
To take my love and return to Chateau D’if

Now you know revenge is in my soul
My blade is quick my heart is stone
I’m bleeding for a love I’ll never know
I’m the Count of Monte Cristo
My kingdom is island all alone...
