The rain has stopped
the sky still dripping

my footing slipping,
Up the slippery slope

Couplets tied
like couples walking
through the woods
sometimes talking,
About the future
about the past
pebbles in the lake
cast,

Concentric ripples
waves of time
each has rhythm

sipping
cups of coffee
the balance tipping,
Afternoon becoming
night
decision time

What to do
with whom, and where
walk or drive?
what to wear,
Peace or war
pro or con
