Morning Star

This morning as I entered semi conscienceness
Those moments between sleeping and waking

The dimness was washed in your radiance.
As you swept the fog from the shadows of my mind.

Light years away, yet I could touch you.
Your skin glowing and soft.

My hands tracing across your bare back and shoulders
Absorbing your warmth and your love.

The cool air tasted fresh and new,
My body felt strong and alive.

Fully awake now and touched by your spirit.
As our hands and our heart intertwined.

I could feel this

It is something I have yearned for myself, perhaps one day...

I remain,

This poem catches....

.....those first few moments of waking beside a beloved. The mists of sleep slipping away to be replaced by recognition and love. Nicely done.
