The pale blue morning glories opened and closed before sunrise
as the summer heat drove them back inside their sepals
but as the fall approached and she arrived here
they began to stay open all day long

Now the morning glories are in full bloom from the time
my eyes open each morning to look into her eyes first
and then outside the window at the blue magical flowers
curling beautifully around each other as
I wrap myself in her arms and smile

There is a beauty unparalleled in the natural world
visible only in the tiny blue petals of the morning glories
as they stretch so beautifully toward the sun
reaching toward the sky forgetful of all those
burning summer days that kept them
inside their tiny calyxes.

they were

my mom's favorite flowers. she had a CB radio back in the early 80's and her handle was "mornin' glory".

You have some good images here, and your descriptions are solid, but you could soften the poem a bit with some tweaking. all in all, pretty good :)

I enjoyed this piece of prose and hope to read more from you
