About to spill lest I hurry
Steadying my hands
I gratefully partake
Intent on my task to find
Poignant, liquid heaven
Pushing
Almost forcing
Past my lips
Filling my mouth
Smooth
Savory essence
Swirling over my tongue
Creamy
Satisfying nectar
Rushing down my throat
Warming my belly
Opening my eyes
Alert
Awake
Revived
Ever thankful
For that first sip of morning coffee.
