My heart lies in ruins on the floor
A single tear I shed as I close the door
A new chapter in my life has begun
A transition never to be sung

Can I live a life without you?
I wish I knew
Only time will tell if I can mend a broken heart
Until then, we will remain apart

I need this for me,
There is no other way it can be
I hope that you understand
Our solid foundation has crumbled to sand

Don’t get me wrong, I won’t forget you
It is not something I can do
You meant the world to me
This, I hope you can see

But, alas, the time has come to say good-bye
Your feelings, to me, seem to be a lie
Please, don’t be sad
You’ll see, it’s not so bad
