On mowing:
Fescue, blue grass and perennial rye
stand for the slice of my
delightful opposing pistons.
Over ant hills, wild strawberry and Creeping Charlie
double digit horse power
vibrates
directly to my vinyl seat
-
The crop circles:
In places there are racetracks inches underground
marked by lushness
traveled by manly moles, their lovely wives and progeny.
They speed along dropping excrement and aerating
like particles in a molecular accelerator
-
At the road side:
There comes the final cut spraying
the cowlicks of last pass onto pavement
for rapid drive through by neighbor's SUV's,
pickups and dairy delivery conveyance.
The faster the better scatters my lawn
in little tornadoes twisting,
best observed through rear view mirror
