A burdock stole my heart
then hitched a ride on my
tattered green sweatshirt,
ungrateful hooked weed
but good to eat

Andre', annoyed by the arrogant buzzing bee
appropriates it mid air
and chomps

~

In the blades of grass
are shards of glass
and shreds of snakes
the size of earth worms

~

Jason at 12 finds flies
for swatting on all warm surfaces.
car hoods, house sides
pride in swatting

~

While cutting I ponder
who was the physician
that crafted my circumcision,
an artist inspired
to be sure
