MONDAY MORNING
8/4/1991

Mrs RAMSEY

Mrs Ramsey applied for help with her rent,
her letter to me promptly sent,
she said, Mr. Ramsey escaped for the sun,
she lives with her baby-young son.

Her income diminished, her rent just too high,
so full rent rebate will apply,
"he went to Antigua", she says with regret,
"so, soon I will be in big debt".

refrain
She is a single mother,
her case a priority,
one way or the other,
we act on her authority.

Assessment just showed: one hundred per cent,
at least she will get her full rent,
but as for the husband, the odds are against,
he flew for a lecherous nest.

Cheer up, Mrs Ramsey, there's help on the way,
and write to your husband to stay,
Antigua sounds thrilling, but care is too scarce,
I mean, could he do any worse?

refrain
She is a single mother,
her case a priority,
one way or the other,
we act on her authority.
