MY ALL AND EVERYTHING
(Ouverture)

1
"It is my all and everything this camera", you said,
how much can these few words foretell the future we will tread?

But how so, or why so? And yet with such correctness,
a photo born with every click, truth told with terse directness!

We are two tourists after all, or maybe I am not,
I'm not too sure, but I love you, so give it serious thought.

If this is "all and everything" it's good enough for me,
your photos capturing the truth which every one can see.

Are you too young? Am I too old? Cool blue or fire-red?
"It is my all and everything this camera", you said,

2
I don’t remember how or when, some money comes our way,
not that we are in need of it, life rolls all fun and gay.

Cause here we have everything, living from day to day,
having each other is enough down by the Avra bay.

It is all yours, it is all mine, so let's dispose of it,
"Baby, what would you like to buy? "Oh baby, you're so sweet!"

These are the words that photographs perhaps cannot record,
and in a sublime melody apply the wrong chord.

For consonance or dissonance those words we still could miss,
"Baby, I want a camera", you said, "that's my sole wish!"

3
And so there is a camera, let's make good use of it,
so many subjects there to shoot, our love, the sea, and Crete!

Even if the machine you loose, the photos if you shake,
this sea and Crete you won't forget, this love you won't forsake.

These are the words, said or unsaid, I don’t remember which,
that are note present in those clips down by the Avra beach.

A photo's worth a thousand words but we don’t have a clue,
One word to us carries more weight if we can prove it true.

Watching you play, love and laugh, caressed by every breeze,
down by the sea, so close to you, I caught the same disease.

4
You are my all and everything, I hope you know that,
my photos catch you unaware to fairies when you chat.

Or when you play with the dog, or you pretend to sleep,
I may not use your camera-I hope you get this tip-

but I keep shooting, as you do, when I can spot a site,
adding to endless memory our every terabyte.

The kind of photos that in song only may be projected,
hoping you maybe get amused before they are rejected.

Photos and songs and artifacts, nothing belongs to us,
only our love, like it or not, that's all my pretty lass.

5
"I am your all and everything", or so you are implying,
I hope I am, but if I'm not, there is no need for crying.

We are two tourists after all, or maybe you are not,
you're not too sure, but you love me, I gave it serious thought.

And after thinking like we do and like we fuck about,
how much could in these photos be that any one could doubt?

Those that within us will survive and some day will arise,
to face again some truths by gone with new and virgin eyes.

Don’t loose our photos, don’t distort, don’t hide or make unclear,
Don’t loose our all and everything, don’t make it disappear.
