She is my friend
My love
I care more about her than she knows
I would love her
But she doesn't want that
As far as I can tell
But from afar, as I must
I still love her
She hurts
I want to make her better
To hold her
To shield her from her pain
I would accept it
Take it from her
I would suffer all that and worse
Just to know she didn't have to feel it
But I can't
Her pain is hers
I wish I could make it mine
I would give all
Just to let her feel one moment of happiness
To let her feel what I see in her
Just that one moment of perfection
I would suffer eternal torment
Just to give her that one moment
The single moment of happiness
But I don't know if she'd let me
She is so alone in her thoughts
Would she invite me in?
Would she allow me that chance?
I don't know
I would stand guard against her pain
If she would let me
But I don't know if she would
