My Friend, My Love, My Fantasy

How can I ache for something that has never been,
Long for a touch that will never be?
Yet, you have held me in the night,
your voice caressing away my fears.
My body waits for the touch that will never come.
The kiss that I will never feel against my skin.

You have cradled me when I was lonely,
Yet my body aches to feel your arms around me.
You have listened to my tears,
but your lips have never kissed them away.

You have given me your trust, your friendship.
Your warm voice touching me in the early morning hours.
As your whispers kissed against my skin,
you brought it to fever, my cries in the candlelight as you take my breath away.
My heart racing, my thoughts and words incomplete.
Only the beating of my heart can tell you how you make me feel.
A touch, a sound, we will never share.

Your laughter brings a sigh,
and a smile to my face.
Even as I know, I will never see the passion in your eyes, that is in your voice tonight.
I ache for the touch that will never be.
The kiss that will never come.
The soft whispers against my hair.
The strong arms that will hold me tight.
The pressing of our bodies as one,
as my screams in the night are only heard in the shadows of my lonely soul.

To my love, my friend, my fantasy.
