My friend the wind
comes and goes
reminding me
that's how life flows
My friend the river
showed me swells and white caps
they went up and down
expressing emotions
will fall, crown and recap
My friend the tree
reminds me to stand tall and proud
set roots and reach for the heavens
dance when the wind blows
be absent of malevolence
My friend the sun
like true friends do
came and warmed my soul
showing me to shine brightly
it too has its highs and lows
My friend the moon
brought me enlightenment
in my darkest hours
making shadows flower
My friend the dawn
filled my life with colors
it came and I yawned
bringing me another day
in which to carry on
