Before I close my eyes in slumber,
I count the blessings I can number.
Tis you I choose to give God thanks for,
Only you and nothing more.

You are what makes my world seem bright,
You shine and burn in mortal night,
I ask that love die not in you,
I request from Him that ours stay true.

I pray your lips are mine to kiss,
That in your arms I will find bliss,
And may our love continue forever,
This is my soul's earnest endeavour.

I know that you will always be,
The one who grants serenity,
I pray this is forever true,
That you're for me and I'm for you.

So with each moment of the day,
Our heavenly Father hears me pray,
That you stay happy, safe and warm,
Should He grant that you come to no harm.

So live my soul and always know,
Our precious love will forever grow.
This heartfelt wish God can't deny,
That together we will always fly.

Beautiful... simply beautiful

This is the third time I read the poem and I have emoted every single time. I'm on the verge of wiping tears away. A prayer that we all secretly have has been so openly expressed that the beauty and painful yearning is blended, not being able to see one without the other.

What I said before is now a lie. I am wiping tears away.
