My Inspiration
A cowboy a poet a truck driver too
Just some of the things that I like to do
I’m thankful for all and the way that I live
As I express my feelings through the poetry I give
My words do reflect what is inside of me
It helps my heart and my mind to be free
Reflections of feelings from so deep within
Sometimes I don’t know just where to begin
Then there are times my thoughts come alive
Food for my pen for which it does strive
My job also gives me much inspiration
As I drive my big truck across this great nation
Also the past to which I hold dear
Memories of lost love my friends and some fear
Some memories haunt me as they surface at times
While all good or bad help me write my rhymes
But none the less everything in my life plays a part
As it comes to rest on my paper while it flows from my heart
