My phrenic jealousies
Ripple through my mind
With solemn untruths

That swim around my head
In a pool of emotional excess

They embellish our relationship
With tainted accusations

Fact to fiction red to blue
By talk that went askew

My two-faced jealousies
Catch me off guard
Question my sanity

They betray deep sensitivities
Undermine all sensibilities

That creep out from under my skin
Slowly onto our bed of reality

Where we use to make love
Now lonely sleep back to back

My green-eyed jealousies
Encage my heart
Hold hostage tender affections

Imprison my love for you
Within a four way wall of desperation

They invade territorial pissings
Marked by the smell of sex

That covers me head to toe
Inbetween sheets where secrets lie

My never-ending jealousies
Impede further reality
Obscure truth's vision

Cause me to be myopically blind
To the truth within my own mind

From start to finish...

this poem took Me into a virtual pool of insecurity; a quicksand. Feeling you sink in helplessness in controlling the green eyed monster was so descriptive, it left Me thinking jealousy in itself is a form of addiction, isn't it? But it's one you can kick once you realize {as you do} that it is a destructive emotion. Thank you for the lingering effects this piece enabled Me to feel.

!

Great opening!

re;

My phrenic jealousies

this really sets the stage for the poem. I wandered throught the green eyed emotions and felt the sad despair with the end... you did well inviting the reader into the destruction of a love through sexual/emotional cynicism. And ty for making me ref. the dictionary!

Your poem has been mentioned on the Sunday reviews..
