I have a lover,
Oh sure, he's only in my dreams
But a wonderful lover he is
All the same.
We sit in the cold late spring morning light
On a couch of battered brown
And drink coffee from big cracked mugs
With dogs sleeping all around
And read each other bits
From books and plays and comic strips
He tugs my hair, I bite his nose
We laugh and grin and giggle
Snuggleing on a couch of battered brown
And I love him, and he loves me
Through the most casusal of touches
His hand on my leg,
My leg over his,
I straighten his collar
He pulls up the cover
Love to me is in the smallest things
If it is real and good and true
How I wish I truly had that in my life
Don't you?
