As I sit alone in the corner of my mind                                            I think of those whom I have left behind                                             But these tears are not for sorrow or joy                                                     They are for the little boy who has suffered like he lost his favorite toy                                                                                                   Because he knows the ache of a heart so often broken                         So empty like a song without a word being spoken                               Although he looks and prays to the stars every night                           For a soul to share to share his endless plight
And so he goes day by day to the sky and heavens to cast another prayer
All he really knows is he'll be the only one there
And as I sit to look back into the day that was my life
I am tearful for the joy and for the strife
For the people that were so loving and so kind
I find it's my time to leave this corner of my mind
So off I go be it heaven or be it hell
But at this place I'm at I no longer dwell
