My mind takes me places
It takes me far away
A place where everything is wrong
A place where there's no say

Sometimes things are good
Like it's meant to be
Flowers blooming, sun shining
And love is the key

Then there are times
More often than not
Where my mind brings in the darkness
Only to rot

It whispers things to me
Things I'm not sure are true
It reminds me of my wrong doings
Whether it be many or few

I don't always believe it
But sometimes I do
I try not to listen
But sometimes it's true

Maybe one day I'll be free
Maybe one day I'll know
Just how true my mind is
How the truth will unfold

Forgive me my weakness
Forgive my emotions
I'm not trying to hurt you
Just going through the motions

I'll make it one day
One day you'll see
My mind will no longer
Play tricks on me
